At the beginning of December, Emilia and other group leaders from the IPC PAS visited the Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology in Jena<\/a>. The bus trip was organized to foster collaboration between the institutes and provide a chance to pursue EU funding together. With so many scientists from both institutes presenting, the talks were divided into three sessions happening in parallel.
(i) Biophotonics, Analytical Chip Systems and Medicinal Chemistry
(ii) Photonics, Optics and Light-Driven Processes
(iii) Materials\u2019 Development and Applications
Emilia participated in the first session giving an overview the research of the Sensor Array group during a presentation entitled \u201cSensor arrays from simplified sensor design to enhanced performance\u201d. The talk was well received, with many questions duringa and after the session. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the second day, when the directors of both institutes met to discuss possible collaboration opportunities, Emilia visited the optical fibre lab. She saw the towers used to pull fibres of different architectures and later the labs for spectroelectrochemistry, which included a setup perfect for Martyna\u2019s new miniaturized cell for ion-transfer voltammetry and a setup currently used for studies of Prussian Blue -may be an opportunity for Karthika? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
