Following the STER Summer School, Emilia traveled to Hungary to participate in the Matrafured Conference on Chemical Sensors from June 16 to 21, 2024. Established in 1972, this conference has a storied history spanning over half a century. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Held every two to three years, the event takes place in the picturesque and relatively secluded location of Visegr\u00e1d, situated north of Budapest along the banks of the Danube River.The Matrafured Conference is renowned as an international hub for chemical sensor research, fostering critical discussions, idea exchanges, and the building of scientific networks. The evening poster sessions, in particular, provide an excellent platform for these interactions. Emilia represented our group by presenting a poster showcasing El\u017cbieta’s research on syringe ISE’s<\/a> and Martyna’s miniaturized cell for ion-transfer voltammetry<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Conversations with veteran attendees revealed that the Matrafured Conference is considered the Hungarian equivalent of the Polish SMCBS conference organized by IChF. In its early days, Matrafured served as a crucial meeting point for researchers specializing in ion-selective electrodes from both sides of the Iron Curtain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
