In September we had a short-term group member from Poznan University of Technology. Barbara Piechel, a BSc student at the Faculty of Chemical Technology, worked with Emilia on the newly started project aimed at detecting date rape drugs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The internship also marks the beginning of closer cooperation between IPC PAS and Poznan University of Technology, as the two institutions are in the process of signing an agreement to facilitate student access to internships in our laboratories.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

As part of the NCN Sonata BIS project, we plan to use low-cost sensors based on ion transfer voltammetry, so Basia worked on getting to know the three-phase junction setup, the classic ion transfer voltammetry cell and different paper-based devices. Together with Emilia, Basia repeated some of the work done during Emilia’s PhD in Brazil, adapting it to the currently available materials. Those results will be a starting point for other more advanced setups. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
