We are delighted to welcome a new member to our research team Ntanhaning Medonjeu Morel Brinda, who joined us on 22 November 2024 to begin her PhD journey within our NCN Sonata BIS project. She brings exceptional academic achievements, strong motivation, and a deep passion for electrochemistry and analytical chemistry. Ntanhaning received her Master’s degree in Inorganic Chemistry, specialising in analytical chemistry (electrochemistry) and materials engineering, from the University of Yaoundé I in Cameroon. Her Master’s research focused on developing an electrochemical method for assessing antioxidant properties using the CUPRAC technique, giving her solid experience in analytical method development, electrochemical sensing, and materials engineering. Before that, she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry at the same university, building a strong foundation in organic, inorganic, materials, and coordination chemistry.
Throughout her studies, she distinguished herself as one of the top students in her cohort. Her dedication and hard work were recognised through numerous awards, including being named Best Female Scientist by OWSD Cameroon (2022–2023) and receiving multiple Academic Excellence Awards granted annually by the Cameroonian Head of State.
Her motivation to join our project stems from a strong interest in electrochemistry, analytical methods, and the practical development of sensitive sensors. She describes herself as highly motivated, hardworking, and passionate about contributing to scientific innovation. She looks forward to expanding her expertise in ion‑transfer voltammetry, sensor arrays, and device development while bringing her own background in electrochemistry and materials science to the team.
We are excited to welcome Ntanhaning to our group. Sorry that you already had to prove your dedication through the arduous visa process, but we’re happy that neither that nor the snow on your arrival deterred you from joining our team.
